Bengaluru, Jan 1: Karnataka minister of Excise H Nagesh who had said that liquor will be distributed to the poor at subsidized rates backtracked from his promise.
Speaking at Vikas Soudha, he said that liquor is already being sold at low rates. “However, discussions over selling quality liquor at reduced rates will be held with Excise commissioner. The matter of increasing liquor sales in village limits by supplying it on subsidized rates will be discussed with officials,” he said.
The minister clarifying his earlier statement which had caused controversy said that the statement was misunderstood. “There is no such proposal,” he said.
