Bengaluru, Jan 1: Eight persons working for Dr B R Ambedkar Development Corporation who were facing allegation of misusing government grants, were suspended from services by the state government through an order. Irregularities were noticed in the city district office of the corporation here.
Rs 6.30 crore had been released to the corporation in 2016-17 and 2017-18 under the self-employment scheme and industrial service scheme of the government for being disbursed to 115 beneficiaries belonging to scheduled caste. But the officials messed up things and transferred this sum to middlemen.
As there were allegations of involvement in this scandal by eight officials, the government had ordered for an inquiry. The inquiry proved involvement of these officials in the scandal. Thereafter, the corporation registered cases in Magadi Road police station against these persons. District manager of the said corporation said that court case has been filed against these officials.
The names of officials who have been suspended are H R Arun Kumar and J G Padmanabha, both deputy chief managers, office superintendent M C Indiramma, taluk development officers P Mallesh and N Mukund, second division assistants Kalpana and Puteerayya, and taluk development officer (acting) M Linganna.
