Kasargod: Stung by wasps, farmer dies - Girl student injured

Kasargod, Jan 1: A farmer, who was stung by multiple wasps, lost his life at Kalathur area near Kumble on Monday December 30. In this incident, a girl student suffered injuries.

The man who lost his life in this fashion was Shankar Rai (75) resident of Kidoor Kajur. He was returning after delivering milk to the milk dairy near the check post when some wasps which were agitated, stung him all of a sudden. Although he ran to save himself, a swarm of wasps chased him everywhere and stung him severely. He suffered grave injuries and died on way to hospital.

A girl student of plus one class of Mangalpady school, who was passing that way, was also stung by wasps. She stands admitted into the government hospital at Kumble.

The deceased is survived by wife and five daughters.
