Udupi, Dec 30: District BJP organized a condolence meet to pay tribute to the departed soul of Sri Vishwesha Teertha Swamiji at its party office in Kadiyali, here, on Monday December 30.

The district president, Mattaru Ratnakar Hegde and party workers paid floral tributes to the photo of Pejawar Swamiji.

In his address, Mattaru said, "Pejawar Swamiji established many educational institutions. Udupi is recognized as an educational hub. After this, the temple town of Udupi will be recognized at a global level because of Pejawar. He created awareness on religion and promoted Hindu Dharma as well. He had social concern for the deprived classes. He visited Dalit colonies for the first time in history and was a social reformer.

"Sri Vishwesha Teertha Swamiji installed Ram Lalla statue in Rama Mandir. He was eagerly waiting for the verdict from Supreme Court. We wished he would live for the construction of Ram Mandir and that he would install the idol at the place, but the plan of God was different.

When he was admitted into hospital due to ill health, we were confident that he will be back to do God’s service, but nothing happened of the sort happened. His principles and contributions to society will remain forever. I hope that such an eminent Hindu promoter will come back to this earth to make reforms."

Mahesh Takur, town BJP president, Prabhakar Nayak, former town BJP president, Shreesha Nayak, president, Yuva Morcha and others were present.
