Kundapur, Dec 30: A Haladi Nagarika Hitarakshana Vedike (Citizen Welfare Forum) was newly inaugurated and blessed by Vidyavachaspathi Sri Santhosh Bharathi Sripadamgal at Mooduhaladi Government Higher Primary School premises. “The vedike should proceed with the noble work ignoring criticism,” he said.
“While I had plans to construct a hospital for middle class people in Kundapur, a few entrepreneurs in Mumbai came forward with donations. Land was bought and leveled in Hykadi, but some people in society hindered the project. Those who were preparing to donate money also backtracked. The respect and insults in this connection are continuing. I have tolerated all of them. I will construct a well-equipped cancer and kidney hospital without fear of obstacles."
Former MP Jayaprakash Hegde distributed registration cards and shawls to the members. He said that the intention and plans of the vedike are noble. “Parts of Kundapur taluk joined Hebri taluk after its formation. I have set right certain confusion regarding registration at Shankernaryana sub-registrar office. It is not necessary to be a people representative to serve the people. The vedike will warn the panchayats when they lose the way. The vedike should provide employment related information to the youth. It should act to provide government jobs to the poor people,” he said.
Vedike president, Nagaraj Goli Haladi presided over the programme.
Chief guest, Vedike Udupi district chief secretary Nithyananda Olakadu, lecturer Akshay Hegde, Haladi Citizen Welfare Forum honorary president Udayakumar Shetty, Rajiv Shetty Shadigundi, C K Anwar Saheb, vice-president, officer bearers and members were present.
Nagaraja Goli welcomed the gathering. Secretary Suryaprakash Damle gave the introductory address. Ganesh Arasammakanu compered the programme.
