Mangaluru: PFI says BJP resorting to repression to crush people's movement

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Dec 30: "People across the country are agitated by the anti-constitutional way of BJP rule. The BJP is depressed by the way protests have grown into the size of people's movements. Therefore, BJP is now trying to take revenge against Popular Front of India (PFI) as a means of politics of vengeance," analysed state president of PFI, Muhammed Saqib.

He said that India is coming under worldwide criticism for its economic downslide and unconstitutional Citizenship Amendment Act. The fact that progressive thinkers, students, writers and social activists are fighting to save democracy has come as shock for fascist BJP. To subdue the people's movement that is gaining in strength, the BJP is indulging in conspiracy by proposing to place ban on PFI, he explained.

He accused BJP of trying to crush constitutional rights of protesters with the help of police, and over 20 people have died all over India and hundreds who have suffered life threatening injuries are in hospitals. In Karnataka, police shot dead two Muslim youth. The BJP people's representatives, instead of thinking of ways and means to protect law and order situation, are whiling away time in accusing PFI, he said.

Saqib termed government's handing over of Mangaluru disturbance investigation to Criminal Investigation Department (CID) as a pre-planned conspiracy and said that as per the practice so far, CID always comes out with report that serves the interests of the government. He demanded impartial probe by sitting judge into the disturbances and felt that investigation by a police team against atrocities committed by their own colleagues cannot deliver justice.

What people's movement? Everyone has a right to protest but this has become "riot" to protest. Rioting, pelting stones, damaging public property, creating unrest, hatred, disrupting harmony...this is no people's movement.

Very heartening to see that minorities have a patriotic, peace living and constitution abiding organization like PFI. The Sanghis who just love repression and know hate cannot tolerate PFI and are trying at all level to defame them. However truth ultimately wins.

    Well said Mr. Saqib.
Indeed, seeing nation wide protests irrespective of religion, BJP has become hakka bakka.
