Kadaba: Senior citizen slips, drowns in pond

Kadaba, Dec 29: Balappa Poojary (67), resident of Naddottu in Perabe village in the taluk lost his life after accidentally falling into a pond near his home on Saturday December 28.

He had left home for attending a function organized at the residence of a friend. His daughter-in-law found after sometime that a torch, bundle of beedis and footwear used by Poojary were floating in the said pond. She alerted the family members who immediately checked the pond and found his body.

It is suspected that he would have slipped when walking by the side of the pond in pitch dark conditions. He is survived by wife and three sons.

A case in this respect was filed in Kadaba police station.
