By Kevin Coutinho Frankfurt , Sep 17: The GDKA celebrated Monti Fest on 12th September 2009 in Frankfurt am Main. The day started at 11:00 AM with honoring Mother Mary with flowers and then with a small procession to the church to celebrate the Holy Eucharist. Fr. Robert Rego celebrated the Holy mass and homily was given by Fr. Ivan Lobo. After the Holy Mass everyone greeted each other Happy Feast and gathered in the Church hall. Fr. Rego introduced committee members to every one and newcomer were ask to introduce themselves to others. It was time for lunch, where 5 types of vegetable, sanas and rice were served to all followed by Indian sweets.
It was then time for some entertainment and so we had few children dances, housie games were played after which vegetables, which were brought for offertory was auctioned. Mr. Simon Dias (Vice president sponsored all the vegetables), which he cultivated in his garden. The specialty of the program was DJ Stephen Lobo who gave everyone a thrilling experience of Indian music and made everyone dance to his tunes. Around 110 people were present for the "Monti Fest Function."
Its so nice to see a lot Mangaloreans in Germany, Frankfurt, celebrating Monti fest, I love to join, talk, and also to hear konkani, as well I like Konkani mass a lot. Praise to Mother Mary, for a lot of blessings.
