Bantwal, Sep 17: A person named Ramesh Poojary (27), who was seated in the last row of the seats of a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation bus, suffered fracture of the bone, when he was thrown forward, as the bus wheels negotiated a huge pot hole at considerable speed, while passing through Alira village near Mani on Wednesday September 16. On the basis of a complaint filed by the passenger, the personnel of Vittal police station have registered a case against the bus driver concerned.
The bus was moving towards Mangalore from Puttur, when the incident occurred. Poojary's bone was fractured, as he hit a rod of the seat located in front of him, with considerable force in the incident.
In another case, Issac Mendonca (58), working in the regional office of Vijaya Bank, Mangalore, suffered serious injuries, when he was lifted off the seat and then thrown down, due the impact caused, when the bus heaved in and our of a huge crater at Farangipet on national highway 48 on Wednesday. He was immediately taken to a private hospital in Mangalore, where he is undergoing treatment.
