Panaji: Six check dams to come up in Mhadei

Panaji, Dec 28: Pramod Sawant, chief minister said that the state government has approved construction of six check dams to store Mhadei water claimed by Karnataka state as flowing to the sea and going waste.

The chief minister said that permission for only six dams was obtained though the state was supposed to set up 46 of them.

As we need water for the state, the six projects are being expedited. WRD team has been asked to complete them at the earliest, he said.
