Mangaluru, Dec 27: Former deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district and IAS officer Sasikanth Senthil has expressed extreme unhappiness over the violence and loss of lives in the protest against CAA that occurred in Mangaluru on December 19.
"The police firing that took the lives of two people in the anti-CAA protest is very unfortunate. In addition, the decision of announcing and withdrawing the compensation to the families of the victims is bad decision of BJP government. It has targeted and decided to take back the compensation," said Sasikanth Senthil expressing his rage against the state BJP government.
Continuing his opinion, Sasikanth further said, "CAA and NRC are against poor people of the country. The country will get divided if these acts are implemented. People of poor and middle class will get severely affected due to the implementation of these acts. There is no need for the country of these acts in the present scenario."
Sasikanth Senthil had resigned from the position of deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district in September of this year citing that the present political situation in the country is not proper. The democratic system of the country is getting worse and it is not possible for him to continue as DC under such circumstances.
