Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Dec 24: After the unfortunate incidents of December 19, some police personnel and their family members have been getting threatening calls, it is said. The calls are received from anonymous callers. A complaint in this respect was filed in the cybercrime, economic offences, and narcotics (CEN) police station here.

People protesting against Citizenship Amendment Act had, in spite of denial of permission for holding protest, come together in large numbers on December 19 near State Bank, Nellikai Road, Azizuddin Road, Mission Road and other areas in and around Bunder here. The police had acted against the protesters, and two had died in the police firing.

After this incident, some senior police officers have got death threats from people who are agitated by the police action. Therefore, some police officers have been provided with gunmen.

Many of the calls received were for Kadri police inspector Shantaram and his family. Miscreants have also been posing death threats to him and his family members through social websites. Therefore, a case has been registered at CEN police station. City police commissioner Dr P S Harsha, said that it was decided to file case against the miscreants as inspector Shantaram and some other senior police officers have been getting death threats from callers who have remained anonymous.

It's high time we realize the importance of CAA and NRC because this is what each one of us will have to face in the coming days. Threat to life!! I don't feel safe anymore with these kinds of people in my nation. Time to filter and make this a happy and safe place to live.

How Hooligans pelted stones who wore mask and ran inside office . Everyone of us have seen all the things in MEDIA . Eventually Truth will come out after investigation . When the protesters were shot down mercilessly & discriminately they had full courage and now they get shock for their/fly member life. Now start blaming someone from the victims friend circle and partly on certain community. Every ones life is precious.

Don't the police have water cannons, teargas and rubber bullets to disperse the crowd? Also isn't there a process to shoot and injure the protesters if required??
Is there no other option to open fire and kill unarmed protesters???

Both of us did not witness the incidence. We hear or read from news media. Depends on which side you want to take.

    1. I have seen the videos that were available with various news sites . These potray a very inhuman picture of police. Chasing people inside the hospital.
    2. Why 144 section? Was that necessary?
    3. Why threaten people who want to protest peacefully?
    4. In other cities in karnataka like bangalore , thousands have protested, these went peacefully. Police could not handle 200 people?
    5. There is a counter narrative that blames the protesters. It depends on how unbiased we are to understand the politics of it.

Loosing a close relative is painful and that wound cannot heal anyone on this world.only God can comfort with his resurrection words on the final judgement day..
Sometimes I think taking out life is not a solution if property damage can reinstall.but life cannot and before shooting if in that place if police officers family members was there what feeling his would be?if need be police can fire below the knee point not above!!
I am no one to give suggestions here but only my vision Once the life gone we cannot bring it back
    Property can

You may give a thought in a different direction too.
Imagine, there was no shoot out. The mob would have ransacked the police station, then other groups in the Nellikai road would too have gone on rampage spree, definitely attacking the Hanuman temple and finally there would have been a communal riot and many more onnocent lives would have been lost. It would have taken weeks to bring normalcy back.

    @Shankar,
Please don't comment reading news papers and police report. They both tell 99% lies. Come out of religion bro. You can't treat humans with such cruelty.

There are eye witnesses who tell a different story. So we are faced with 2 versions. Which to believe?
First of all all were human beings. In a democracy, people have a right to protest. The protesters were citizens of India.
What the state government did : prevent the protests. Why assume that any protest cannot be peaceful? One cannot impose 144 section to subjugate people's need to protest. Why use police force to intimidate .
Clearly allowing protests would.not have inflamed the situation.
All I am saying that do not take sides , see the situation objectively. One thing cannot be denied: serious lapse on the part of state machinery to deal the peaceful protests properly.

    Truly said John
Now nothing happened to police officers!
Only for the threat they are so confused and restless
If the life had gone what would be their reaction?
    We are all humans
Life can take out from the body only the creator
No one has got the right to take the life out!!
If they do so there is punishment on this earth to them
Have you not read God has measured every tear of a person who calls upon him!!
Therefore if you see any suffering of a person around you or in hospital there must be a mystery behind his or her suffering
Therefore try to live life with love and peace and joy
This is nothing but holy spirit
Have a nice day and enjoy your life!!

You have no choice but to live along with those people you hate the most unless you choose to migrate somewhere but sorry , wherever you go you can't get rid of them.
