Puttur, Sep 14: As the department has completed the task of removing boulders that posed danger to the passing vehicles at the Shiradi Ghat, this stretch of national highway 48 has been re-opened for vehicular traffic ftom Monday September 14.
The ban imposed by the deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district on the movement of vehicles on this road ended on Sunday September 13. The highways department has clarified that vehicles would be allowed to move on this road from Monday onwards.
In the meanwhile, district in-charge minister Krishna J Palemar has instructed the KSRTC officials to ensure that the buses moving to Bangalore should take Shiradi Ghar route henceforth. He said, he has received several complaints from the general public, about the fact that the KSRTC buses have been taking either the Madikeri-Mysore route or the Charmadi Ghat route to reach their destinations, instead of Shriadi Ghat route.
