Bengaluru, Dec 23: The state government has issued a notification on Monday, December 23 to all the schools in the state to implement 'Water Bell' in both the forenoon and afternoon sessions of classes in the school to facilitate the students to drink enough water.
According to the new rule, the students of schools in the state will get 10 minutes break each in the morning and afternoon sessions to drink water. The circular sent in this regard has asked the schools to provide this break in between the second and third period in the morning session and between third and fourth periods in the afternoon session.

This rule is basically followed in the neighbouring state of Kerala. Suresh Kumar, the state education minister, who came to know about this facility in Kerala had in fact already made this public on his Facebook page that this will be implemented in the state of Karnataka also in order to promote health among kids and school going children who suffer from various ailments due to lack of intake of water.
