Mangaluru: JCI Ganeshpura launches ‘Prayas’ programme series

Mangaluru, Dec 23: The inaugural ceremony of the 'Prayas' series of programme on the physical and mental health of girls during the menstrual cycle was held at the Government Pre-University College, Krishnapura under the auspices of JCI Ganeshpura.

Chaitra K, chairperson of Junior J C Wing of JCI Ganeshpura presided over the function. JCI Ganeshpura president, Sharat Kumar, Jaycerette chairperson, Shubha Sharath, senior lecturer of the college, Abdul Razak and others were present.

The chief guest, Liyana Mary Joseph, assistant professor at School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, informed the girls about measures to be taken for safeguarding their physical and mental health during the menstrual cycle.

Resource persons Chaitra K, Pallavi, Tanuja, Likhitha informed the students about cleanliness and hygiene to be followed during the menstrual cycle. The students freely discussed their problems and doubts. Sharat Kumar, president of JCI Ganeshpura informed that during the current year, JCI Ganeshpura plans to reach over 1000 girl students through this programme which is being organized through Junior JCs.
