Puttur: Illegal beef seized, one taken into custody

Puttur, Dec 23: Uppinangady police who came to know that beef was being illegally transported in a vehicle, found the vehicle and took into possession a Maruti Omni van and 40 kg beef being transported in it.

The beef was meant for being distributed to poultry centres for illegal sale there. The incident happened on Sunday, December 22.

On the basis of reliable information, Uppinangady police conducted verification and took into possession 40 kg beef being transported for being supplied to a chicken centre located near Hospital Road here. One person has been taken into custody,

The police said that main accused has gone into hiding. The police are conducting investigation.
