Moodbidri, Dec 23: A huge golden star hug over a huge tree opposite Life Service Station at Shirtady near here has been attracting attention of the people not only for its grand size and looks but also for the selflessness and quality of religious integration that has gone into the making of this star.
On the occasion of Christmas, Shirtady Life voluntary service organization has created this star. Naveen Shetty, who lost one of his hands in an accident which happened two years back, has created this star.
The star, which is 12-feet wide and 13 feet high, has been made without using plastic, as in the case of five previous years. Puffed rice, dry grass, millet, puffed jowar, areca husk etc had been used for making this star in previous years. This time, 25 kg of sawdust has been used for this star.
Naveen Shetty, without losing his enthusiasm even after losing a hand, has been conducting agricultural activities with one hand. He has created this star to inspire others who have lost their limbs on account of similar tragedies. Prasanna Joel Sequeira and Yatish Kulal have supported in making of this star.
