Udupi: Police arrest man for peddling drugs, seize 10 kg ganja

Udupi, Dec 22: DCIB police arrested one person and confiscated 10.600 kg of ganja from him on the accusation of possessing as well as trying to sell the contraband drugs.

Vinod Ramsevak Yadav (36), a resident of Ullas Nagar of Thane district of Maharashtra state is the accused who is in police custody now. When he was trying to sell the ganja, DCIB personnel raided and arrested him along with the ganja and other things.

The cops have seized goods worth Rs 3,23,300, which include two mobile phones, cash and ganja. SP Nisha James has announced a cash prize of Rs 20,000 for the team, which had arrested the accused with a huge amount of ganja.

This operation was conducted under the direction of SP Nisha James. The team which raided and arrested the accused included DCIB ASI Ravi Chandra, personnel of DCIB Ramu Hegde, Chandra Shetty, Suresha, Santhosha Kundar, Raghavendra Uppunda, Rajkumar, Dayananda Prabhu, Shivananda; and driver Raghavendra.
