Udupi: PM Modi’s governance is like ‘Tuglaq Darbar’ – Vinay Kumar Sorake

Udupi, Dec 21: “BJP is following British policy of ‘divide and rule’ and creating unrest between religions. BJP government is going against the Indian Constitution. People may face terrible situation in future. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s governance is like ‘Tuglaq Darbar’. It is nothing but imposing policies on people,” said former MLA Vinay Kumar Sorake.

Speaking in a press meet held at Udupi press club here on Saturday, December 22 he said, “The union government should get opinion from public. But it is trying to implement policies forcefully here.

“It is an attack on Indian Constitution. BJP government is oppressing freedom of citizen through its administration.

“Yesterday police did not allow Congress delegation to meet victims’ family. It shows dictatorship attitude. This is happening for the sake of satisfying one class of people,” he said.

Ashok Kodavoor, district president, district Congress committee Udupi, said, “Police did not allowed protestors to hold peaceful protest. Since six years, Modi has not fulfilled any of his promises that he made earlier.

“If BJP really hates Muslims, why there is separate wing for Muslims in their party? Are they only meant for election activities? BJP is dividing religion for its selfish purposes.

“The BJP government led by Modi is playing with the emotions of people. District Congress is pressurising the government to withdraw Citzenship Amendment Act. It has created undeclared emergency situation and is trying to take away people's right,” he said.

Congress leaders Kishan Hegde Kolkebail, general secretary Bhaskar Rao Kediyur, Prakhat Shetty, vice president, Mahabal Kundar, Keerthi Shetty, Upendra Ganiga, and Narasimha Murthy were present.
