Mangaluru, Dec 21: MP and state BJP president, Nalin Kumar Kateel, has requested the people to extend cooperation to the efforts being made by the district administration and the police to ensure that peace prevails in the district. "Please do not lend an ear to rumours being spread by anti-social elements and others," he said. He also asked Congress leaders to stop issuing statements which can incite trouble.

"Because a few people incited others to indulge in destructive activities two lives were lost in the city. Such incidents are unfortunate. The government will be doing justice to the bereaved families. Congress leaders are issuing certain statements with the sole aim of reaping political benefit out of such situations. While the others believe that maintaining peace is their foremost duty, Congress leaders are trying to create trouble and spread problems, which is condemnable," he said.

Nalin said that Mangaluru has come to be recognized nation-wide because of education and industries. 'Violent incidents like these sully the image of the city. The police have succeeded in bringing the situation under control. We need everyone's support and cooperation to take care to ensure that such incidents do not get repeated, he said.
