Kundapur, Dec 19: Ranjith Poojary (21) from Neralakatte-Hilkodu area of Karkunje village died due to consumption of rat poison on Wednesday December 18.

Poojary was working for a bakery at Bengaluru. On December 1, he had called his mother to inform her that he was coming home as he was not feeling well. On his arrival, he was admitted into a private hospital in the town on December 2. For advanced treatment, he was taken to KMC Hospital Manipal on December 4. At that time, he told the hospital authorities that he had consumed rat poison on November 29. He was discharged from hospital after treatment on December 14.

After reaching home, his health again began to exhibit volatility. He was immediately taken to the government hospital. However, his condition deteriorated at the hospital and he breathed his last on the same evening.

A case of suicide was registered in the Kundpaur police station.
