Bengaluru, Dec 19: Sources within the BJP have indicated that as per the current assessment, the chief minister might resort to do a minor surgery to his ministry in order to strike a balance between different castes, regional representations, and also original BJP members and those who crossed over recently. As this involves lot of more work and consultations, the aspirants may have to wait till January 15 to start exercising power.

The chief minister has assured that 11 out of 12 elected legislators would be made ministers. Some original BJP loyalists have been pressurizing for cabinet berth while there is also demand for creating the fourth vacancy of deputy chief minister.

Chief minister B S Yediyurappa, who was hoping to concentrate on development after the bypoll, is stuck with this exercise. He has now said that he will travel to Delhi after December 22 to hold consultation with national leadership. He has asked the newly elected MLAs to wait.

At present, a number of legislators are meeting the chief minister with the hope of getting considered for inclusion in the ministry. Yediyurappa therefore plans to depute four to five ministers for party organization and fill vacancies so created with some current legislators.

MLA, Anand Singh, who met Yediyrappa on Wednesday, discussed about cabinet expansion and Ballari development. Dr K Sudhakar, who has been re-elected from Chikkaballapur, met Nalin Kumar Kateel. Chief minister's political secretary M P Renukacharya, also met BJP state president. Renukacharya was reportedly summoned by Kateel to get his clarification on certain statements issued by him about the post of deputy chief minister, it is said.
