Mangaluru, Dec 19: The city police commissioner Dr Harsha P S, has informed that the police notices have been issued against spreading communal hatred through digital means. He warned that first information reports (FIR) would be registered against system admins and they will be prosecuted for such acts.
The commissioner also said that those living here and getting such messages from other countries also will be held responsible and prosecuted.
The notice says that the police have observed about exchange of certain messages having the potential of spreading communal hatred, between mobile phones. The department is keeping a close vigil on such messages, and if such messages continue to get exchanged, the concerned would be prosecuted under sections 153A and 295 of Indian Penal Code and strict action would be taken by holding group admins responsible, it has cautioned.
