Bengaluru, Dec 19: Through a tweet, former chief minister and leader of the opposition in the state assembly Siddaramaiah, has expressed surprise at the fact that the state government has been resorting to the tactics of suppressing the right to protest that is enshrined in the constitution, by using powers vested to the government as per section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

Siddarmaaiah said he did not expect Yediyurappa to play to the tune of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as he believed that Yediyurappa is more progressive and inclusive.

He ended his tweet by saying, 'Shame on You, Mr. Yediyurappa'.

After series of assault on the values enshrined in the Constitution, it is time to take away the Right to Peaceful Protest through Sec144

I never expected @bsybjp to play to the tune of @narendramodi. I thought he was more progressive & inclusive.
