Bengaluru, Dec 18: An inter-religious Christmas celebration was held on December 14 at the Apostolic Carmel Generalate Campus, Jayanagar, here.
The programme began with a prayer dance led by the students of Carmel Convent Higher Primary School.
Sr Dr M Clarice AC, principal of Sacred Heart Teacher Training Institute delivered the welcome address and introduced the guest speakers of the day.
The guest speakers were Brahma Kumari Chaya, Arekerecentre, Bengaluru, Khurshid Imam, member of the world organization of religions and knowledge, Bengaluru and Fr Dr Jose C C CMI, pro-vice-chancellor, Christ University who shared their views on the theme, 'Establishing a civilization of Love'.
The speakers highlighted the need to establish a culture of love and harmony which is the need of the hour. Building a civilization of love involves a personal willingness to see God’s presence in and all around us. We should come together during this season of Christmas to share love, peace and goodness with all as we celebrate the birth of Jesus.
Fr Sagayanathan, parish priest, Christha Prabhalaya, Jayanagar moderated the panel discussion session and shared his concluding remarks.
Christmas carols were sung by the teacher trainees of Sacred Heart TTI.
A dance drama entitled, 'The Fourth Wise Man' directed by Sr Dr M Clarice AC was staged by the teacher trainees.
Sr M Mabilia AC, assistant Superior General, Apostolic Carmel presided over the celebration.
The programme ended with the vote of thanks delivered by Sr Dr M Clarice AC.
Aditi Sinha and Nikita Bara, teacher trainees compered the programme.
