Mangaluru, Dec 17: Grace Ministry, Bro Andrew Richard on December 15 contributed free education scholarship at its centre in the city to 50 poor students on account of the Christmas season.
The programme commenced with an eye-opening talk from Bro Andrew Richard on education and its importance. He also explained to the students how they need to strive hard in their studies as parents work hard, day and night to keep their children happy. He also stressed on how education plays a vital role in their lives and emphasized that parents in need of any help concerning their children's education materially or financially, Grace Ministry will always be open for them in extending support.
Also, many of the students came forward to thank Grace Ministry for its support in educating them financially and materially. Among them, Dhanush, 7th std student from a local school in the city who had lost his father recently, expressed his thanks to Bro Andrew, for helping him continue his studies as his mother had lost hopes to see her son going back to school. His letter of thanks and love was heartbreaking.
On the occasion of Christmas, free water bottles, notebooks, stationery items, chocolates and kuswar were distributed to the students.
Speaking to media persons, Bro Andrew said, "The plan of 'Educate a child' began when two families approached me for their children's education in February. The situation deeply saddened me when the families explained to me about the unfortunate circumstance that they were going through and that is the time I thought of taking the initiative of educating their children. It all started with two students and now has ended up with 50 students. Our further plan is to extend our service to more than 100 students whose families are facing financial issues. Currently, students from 1st std to 3rd-year degree are given financial support."
