Daijiworld Media Network - Kundapur (SP)

Kundapur, Dec 17: In a case that came out into the open with inordinate delay, a gang had attacked Mohammed Ali, partner of a lodge here, as the gang members were angry at the denial of a room on hire for them. Mohammed Ali was admitted into a private hospital at Udupi in an unconscious state.

The attackers have been named as Mohammed Abbas from Kody and three unidentified persons. Mohammed Ali had visited the lodge of which he is a partner, on December 11. He had returned home at night. On December 12, he had vomited and was not in a position to speak. He was provided first aid at a private hospital in the town and then shifted to a private hospital at Udupi. As there was heavy bleeding in his head, he had to undergo an operation. He continues to be treated in intensive care unit of the hospital.

The information came to light after workers of the lodge were questioned. It is said that Kody Mohammed Abbas and three unidentified persons together wanted to hire a room in the lodge. Ali told them that no room was vacant and that when any room becomes vacant, the same would be issued. The strangers got angry at that and attacked Ali. The workers also said that the gang had threatened to kill them if this matter was revealed by them to others.

A complaint has now been lodged against the attackers. Kundapur police who have registered a case are investigating.
