Vasco, Dec 16: Earlier on Sunday, a 23-year-old youth was arrested for assaulting people and damaging a shop in Mangor. The accused has been identified as Amit Gawde, a resident of Mangor.
Reportedly, the accused had enmity with the shop owner Kripa Shankar. This led Gawde to go on a rampage in which he destroyed things at the shop with an iron pipe. He continued with his rage by assaulting Shankar's 15-year-old son with the pipe.
One of the locals Pradeep Yadav (46) who approached the shop to remove his parked scooter was also assaulted by Gawde.
Yadav lodged a police complaint. Gawde who was hiding in somebody's house was soon arrested. PSI Nikhil Palekar is investigating the case.
