Bengaluru, Dec 16: Many motorists jump red signals in the city thinking that traffic police are not present at the junctions. Scores of two-wheeler riders do not wear helmet while riding bikes or scooters. As a witness to this, a vegetable vendor is made to pay a fine of Rs 15,400 for violating helmet rule 70 times in the past year.
After the new traffic rules were implemented throughout the country, many cases of heavy fines by the police were reported. Traffic police even fined a truck driver for wearing lungi while driving the truck. In addition, a tractor driver was also fined for driving the vehicle without the helmet. Now the case of vegetable vendor has also made news as he is slapped a fine of Rs 15,400.

The challan print out itself was quite long.
The police immediately seized the scooter of Manjunath and asked him to pay the fine and take the scooter from the traffic police station.
