Udupi, Dec 16: Vidyavachaspati Bannanje Dr Govindacharya, claimed that Madhwacharya conceptualized Yakshagana to make it easier for people who find it inconvenient to read and learn about our ancient heritage to understand and be aware about epic history through Yakshagana performances.

He was delivering special lecture at the session on religious reflection held as part of the Tulu Shivalli Brahmins first world conference on Sunday December 15.

"I am happy that Madhwas have come together and created an organization in Russia. They are translating the works of Madhwacharya in Russian and English languages and studying them. The main aim of conferences like these should be to make people aware of the philosophies and ideologies of Madhwacharya," he suggested.

Dr Balakrishna Moodabadithaya P K Puttur, presided. He said that even though he happens to be a medical practitioner, he had married off his daughter holding MBA degree to a priest as per her wishes. He pointed out that people strive to keep their children as close to them as possible. "Likewise, we should nurture our culture and refinement close to us so that they are available to us for guidance during our old age," he asserted.

Laxmisha Tolpady advised people to cogitate upon which form they had taken in their previous births by following the advice passed on by Lord Sri Krishna in Bhagawad Gita.

M K Puranik from Mysuru, Raghavendra Baipadithaya from Beltangady, Anantakrishna Acharya from Karkala and others came out with their ideas and expressions.
