Beltangady: Areca nut dealer cheats suppliers, case filed against three people

Beltangady, Dec 16: A case was filed against three people in the Venur police station on the accusation of buying areca nut worth lacs of rupees and not making the payment.

The accused are identified as owner of Karnataka Supari Traders of Aladangadi Shirlalu in the taluk, Ramla H, a resident of Shirlalu K S Compound, Shiyab and Razak, a resident of Razik Manzil of Majalupalke under Shiralalu village.

In the case it is mentioned that the accused owe Rs 13 lac to Sanjeeva Poojary, a resident of Kodange in Badagakarandoor village, Rs four lac to H Dharnappa Poojary, Rs 5.50 lac to Lingappa Bangera, Rs five lac to Ramananda Poojary, Rs 17 lac to Ammaji K and Rs 8.60 lac to Jochim Frank.

The accused have shut down their shop and are absconding. The cheques which they issued to the suppliers of areca nut have bounced in the bank. Police are on the search of the accused.
