Beltangady, Dec 13: Holy Redeemer English Medium School here, on December 12 celebrated its annual festivities.

“School anniversary is like a feast. It is an opportunity to showcase the talents of school children. There is a good rapport between the school and the forest department,” said the chief guest of the inaugural ceremony, Beltangady Wildlife Conservation officer Subbayya Naik. “We taste bitterness during our education but its outcome is very sweet. May the anniversary be a success by everybody’s enthusiasm, efforts and the Almighty’s blessings,” said the school convener, Fr Bonaventure Nazareth. Students from different divisions displayed physical drills. Winners of the various competitions and those who excelled in studies were presented prizes.

Beltangady court senior Justice Nagesh, chief guest of the evening programme wished that students may have a good future with the cooperation and guidance of their parents and teachers.

Students who secured highest marks in the last SSLC examination were congratulated.

Beltangady court Justice K M Anand and T Sathish, school parent-teacher association vice-president Mamatha Shetty, parish pastoral council secretary Pauline Rego, advocate’s association president, Aloysius Lobo, sports representative, Vincent D’Souza, Church Higher Primary School headmistress, Renny Vas were present.

The students presented dance skits on life values, patriotism, environment, sports and awareness on drugs etc.

The anniversary was a success under the guidance of headmaster Fr Jason Monis and everybody’s cooperation.

Students Princita D’Souza, Vian D’Souza and Lavisha Lobo compered the programme. Students Anselma D’Souza and teacher Blendin Rodrigues welcomed the gathering. Students Vilita Lobo and teacher Renita Lasrado rendered the vote of thanks. Teachers Kavita, Vinita Moras and Akhila Banu participated in the programme.
