Mangaluru: ABSMIDS becomes first Indian educational institute to launch Zeiss Extaro 300 Microscope

Mangaluru, Dec 13: The first-ever installed Zeiss Extaro 300 Microscope in an educational institute in India was inaugurated at the department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, A B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences (Deemed to be University) on December 12 by N Vinaya Hegde, chancellor, Nitte deemed to be university.

Prof, Dr Naseem Shah, former chief, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi was the chief guest of the programme. Prof Dr Mithra N Hegde, vice-principal and head of the department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, A B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences welcomed the gathering and briefed them about the latest addition to the department, Zeiss Extaro 300 Microscope.

The inauguration was followed by two lecture sessions by Prof Dr Naseem Shah on Regenerative Endodontics, a part of the 4-day Faculty Training Programme held from December 10 to 13.
