Bengaluru, Dec 12: JD(S), which is reeling under the unexpected drubbing it faced in the bypoll, is now facing another problem. It is said that state JD(S) president, H K Kumaraswamy, has expressed his inclination to resign from his post.
H K Kumaraswamy was present at a meeting held on Wednesday December 11 where H D Deve Gowda, H D Kumaraswamy, Revanna, Prajwal Revanna and Nikhil Kumaraswamy were present. He reportedly offered to resign, owning moral responsibility for the total rout faced by the party. But Deve Gowda expressed himself against this, and proposed to strengthen the organizational system of the party by analysing causes for the defeat of party candidates. He cajoled Kumaraswamy into agreeing not to insist on his resignation.

H Vishwanath was made state JD(S) president after the coalition government came to power. But he was unable to create any impact of himself as all the decisions were emanating from the residence of Deve Gowda. Vishwanath had expressed his dissatisfaction about the fact that the party was run and controlled by a single family. H K Kumaraswmay too is going through the same experience.
It is said that H K Kumaraswamy's was a token presence when choosing party candidates for the bypoll and he was not given importance in campaigning. It is said that H K Kumaraswamy is frustrated at not getting at least the respect he deserves in the party being the state president, and as such, is mulling to sacrifice his post by terming it as owning moral responsibility.
As the party is faced with the threat of mass migration, the JD(S) leaders have decided to convene legislature party meeting by this week end to hold discussions. Till now, only Deve Gowda's family has discussed the defeat. Therefore, the legislators will be taken into confidence during the meeting, it is said.
