Bengaluru, Dec 11: A person who broke his engagement to a girl by claiming himself to be HIV-positive, is behind the bars now after the girl found out that he was lying.
Often we find people lying about marriage out of enmity or to mislead someone, but in this case, the boy falsely claimed that he was HIV-positive. His marriage therefore was broken and he has been arrested now for relying on falsehood to hoodwink his would-be bride.
Policemen of Vijayanagara station here have arrested Kiran, the would be groom, after finding that the complaint of cheating filed by the girl was true. They got Kiran tested and the report said he does not have HIV infection. The youth is now lodged in Parappana Agrahara prison here.
Kiran
The girl is from Pattegara Palya in the city while Kiran from K R Pura here is employed in a private company in Manyata Tech Park. The marriage was slated to be performed on December 1. The parents of the girl had spent hugely for the function and invitations had been distributed. Kiran, who went to USA two months before the marriage on official work, sent a message to the girl's mobile phone a few days before the wedding day, telling her that he was infected with HIV and hence marrying was not right. The girl brought to this to the notice of parents who met Kiran's family at K R Pura and insisted that their son should come back from USA. Kiran returned on November 27.
When he was tested for HIV, the results proved to be negative. It came to light that he lied to avoid a marriage which he was not happy with. The girl has sought justice. A case in which six persons including Kiran and his family members have been named as accused, has been registered.
