Udupi, Dec 11: Government employees require continuous training about the schemes introduced by the government, their rules and implementation. As Udupi did not have such training center so far, a resource center has come up under zilla panchayat in Rajatadri, Manipal for the purpose.

All the basic facilities for training are provided in the center constructed by K R I D L department at a cost of Rs 175 lac. The center is equipped with computer room, auditorium and projector. Beds, bathrooms, toilets and other arrangements are made if the training lasts for two or three days. Nearly 30 staff under training can be accommodated at a time. There are two air conditioned guest rooms also.

“There are plans for garden, walking path and water fountain in front of the center and developing it as the most attractive training center in the state,” said K R I D L project director Krishna Hepsur.

Funds are released to construct such training centers in all the districts in the state. The training center has started by a seminar on collection and disposal of waste for gram panchayat staff on Wednesday.
