Bengaluru: Daring auto driver hits bike of chain snatcher, video goes viral

Bengaluru, Dec 11: In a scene similar to that of famous Bollywood block busters, an auto rickshaw driver, who observed a chain snatcher on bike, snatching the chain from the neck of a lonely woman and trying to escape, hit his vehicle behind that of the chain snatcher and not only caught him but thrashed him to the core before handing the culprit to the police.

This incident has occurred at Marathalli of the city. A woman was walking alone in front of Max Showroom at Marathalli. The bike-borne chain snatcher, who noticed the lone woman drove near her, snatched the golden chain from her neck. The woman started wailing and also following the culprit. An auto rickshaw driver, who noticed the woman running behind the woman chased the bike of the chain snatcher and dashed his auto rickshaw from behind, which made the robber to fall onto the road.

Hanumanth, the dare devil driver, not only made the chain snatcher fall from his bike but beat him black and blue before handing him over to the police. The act of Hanumanth is captured on the CCTV. Anucheth, DCP of Whitefield, who has lauded the presence of mind and daring of the auto driver, has announced a cash prize of Rs 10,000 to him. The accused is identified as Vignesh of K G Halli.
