Bengaluru: HC quashes hearing in three cases against Kumaraswamy

Bengaluru, Dec 11: The state high court (HC), on Tuesday December 10, quashed hearing in three separate cases registered against former chief minister of Karnataka, H D Kumaraswamy, during the Lok Sabha election of 2014. These cases were pending in the principal civil court at Chikkaballapur.

The electoral officials had filed three cases against Kumaraswamy including violating the instructions of the government official and forcibly stopping a person. Based on these complaints, Chikkaballapur town police had registered first information report.

H D Kumaraswamy had appealed to the high court to cancel the first information reports of the police and the hearing in the court at Chikkaballapur. The court upheld his plea.

The election observer S S Abid, had filed three separate complaints against Kumaraswamy relating to blocking of the road by JD(S) party workers during the campaigning thus obstructing movement of public.
