Udupi, Dec 10: Sreyas (19), first year BCom student from UPMC College, is said to have drowned in the lake at Battamballi, which is seven km away from his residence. The family had a doubt that BJP youths who went out with Sreyas for fishing had planned to kill him. Sreyas’ family and former minister Pramod Madhwaraj were unhappy with the police investigation and demanded proper investigation at the office of SP on Tuesday, December 10.
Pramod Madhwaraj had mentioned earlier during his visit to Sreyas’ residence that he would never let Sreyas’s family down and ensured that justice will be served to him. But Sreyas’ family and also Pramod Madwaraj felt that the investigation is not going in the right direction and getting delayed. Hence, along with Sreyas’ parents and villagers from Brahmavar, Pramod Madhwaraj visited SP office and expressed their grievances and requests to the Superintendent of Police Nisha James. They expressed their anger on police department for not investigating the accused suspects.
Superintendent of Police Nisha James said that investigation is in process. She has taken this case seriously and the investigation reports are ready. But the police department is waiting for the forensic report from Bengaluru. She also clearly mentioned that the police department is going in the right path of investigation and will not bear any pressure tactics or intervention of political parties or influential people in this case and Justice will be served to Sreyas.
