Mangaluru, Dec 10: The inauguration and blessing of the new church building of St Antony Church, Anothonykatte, Bajpe road, will be held on December 21 at 3.30 pm.
Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, bishop of Mangaluru diocese will inaugurate and bless the new church building.
There will be a felicitation and stage programme after the inauguration which will be presided over by Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, bishop of Mangaluru diocese. Oscar Fernandes, MP, Rajya Sabha, Umanath Kotian, MLA, Ivan D'Souza, MLC and J R Lobo, former MLA, will be the chief guest. Other guests of honour include Fr Marcel Saldanha, vicar forane-Pezar Varado and Ganesh Arbi, president Malavoor gram panchayat.
The programme will start at 3.15 pm by welcoming the bishop to the event. He will be taken in procession to the church at 3.20 pm. Inauguration and blessing of the church followed by holy Mass will be held at 3.30 pm. The felicitation stage programme will begin at 5.30 pm. This will be followed by musical nite 'Sangeethaso Dabazo' at the open ground at 6.30 pm.
The musical nite will have renowned singers like Sangeet Samrat and Kalaratn Henry D'Souza, guest singer and dream boy of Konkani with golden voice Roney D'Cunha, winner of ‘Mozo Thalo Gaithalo' Velita Lobo, famous singer of Mangaluru Zeena Pereira and emerging singer Rainal Sequeira.
The singers will be accompanied in music by music director and lead guitarist Roshan Crasta Bela, keyboard artiste would be Gururaj M G, drums will be played by Melwyn Fernandes and bass guitarist will be Vijay Noronha.
In addition to musical nite, there will be comedy and dance from artistes of Karambar.
The programme will be compered by Viola Pinto Bajpe.
Bus facility is available for Bajpe, Gurpur, Permude, Ferar, Pezar and other nearby areas after the event.
