Mangaluru, Dec 9: White Doves, the well-known NGO, presented the 25th mobile act on the life of St Mark ‘Naanu Ninnavane’ written by Bannu Fernandes and directed by Corrine Rasquinha here on St Agnes Special School Ground on Sunday, December 8.
The mobile act on the life of St Mark ‘Naanu Ninnavane’, was presented at Bantwal and Karkala on November 29 and 30 respectively. The show at St Agnes Special School Ground was the final one to bring an end to White Doves’ 25 years of mobile act journey.
White Doves have performed over 300 such shows in and around Mangaluru and Kumble and Kasargod in Kerala. The shows in the past years was held at Beltangady, Bantwal, Kundapur, Moodbidiri, Shirva, Kadaba, Surathkal and Farangipete which drew huge crowds.
The guest for the final show of mobile act were singer Vivienne Pocha, DCP crime and traffic Laxmi Ganesh, Dakshina Kannada principal district and sessions Judge Kadluru Satyanarayana Acharya, senior accountant Sunil Baliga and founder of Mangaluru Alzheimer’s Association Jerardin D’Souza.
Meanwhile, writer Bannu Fernandes was felicitated.
Titus Rasquinha, trustee, White Doves, was also present.
About White Doves
White Doves an NGO founded by Corrine Rasquinha in the early 1990 with the motto to reach out to the least, last and lost has been running homes for the destitute and mentally challenged since 19 years. Over 600 destitute picked up from the streets of Mangalore have been rehabilitated and over 195 have been reached back to their homes all over India including Nepal after a total recovery from their mental illness. Presently there are 150 men, women and children residing in the three homes run by the White doves at Matadakani, Kulshekar and Jail road in Mangaluru.
This is the only home of its kind in Mangaluru where the destitute is picked from the streets and nursed back to normalcy and having a licence from the district administration to take care of Psychiatric destitute. In addition the White doves feeds over a 150 to 200 hungry mouths on the streets on daily basis. The other works of White Doves being building homes for homeless, educating the poor, providing rations to the marginalised of society and providing succour to the poor patients.
White Doves also celebrates its 25 years of service to the down trodden and have rehabilitated over 600 destitute picked up from the streets of Mangaluru and have reunited 389 destitute with their families after treatment all over India including Nepal and Bangladesh.
