Mangaluru: Global warming awareness programme held at DC's office

Mangaluru, Dec 5: The Global Warming Awareness Program was inaugurated by DC Sindhu B Rupesh on December 5, 2019, by pouring water over plants. Sindhu addressed the gathering and said that awareness of global warming is the most important subject to be taken up by students. She stressed the importance of creating awareness because the coastal belt of Mangaluru is prone to be most affected by this and urged students to take initiative in this regard.

Lions club governor Ronald Gomes lead the pledge.

Lions club Valencia president Leslie D'Souza welcomed and appreciated the interest taken by the DC and requested the students to take initiative and educate the general public by avoiding plastic, deforestation, sound and air pollution.



Environmental and pollution control officer Jayaprakash Nayak proposed vote of thanks.

The program drew to a close by singing the national anthem.
