Udupi, Dec 3: Police arrested interstate thieves and recovered items and cash worth Rs 3.22 lac from tem.
The arrested have been identified as Razak Aslam Mujavar (20), resident of Sangli district, Maharashtra; Rajasab Nayak (25), resident of Koppal district, Karnataka, and Deepak Prasad (25), resident of Bihar.
A police team was formed on the directions of superintendent of police Udupi district Nisha James to crack a case where mobile phones and cash worth Rs 8,34,990 were stolen from a shop called Play Zone situated near Triveni junction, Udupi on November 5.
Sixteen mobile phones worth about Rs thee lac, Rs 22,000 cash, iron rod, screw driver, a cutting plier, two shoulder bags, and masks were recovered from the arrested.
The police team with additional SP Kumarchandra, T R Jaishanker, assistant SP, Udupi consisting of Udupi circle inspector Manjunatha, Malpe station PSI Thimmesh, ASI Ravichandra and staff Ramu Hegde DCIB, Raghavendra DCIB, Udupi police station’s Lokesh, Balakrishna, Imran and Santhosh Rathod nabbed the accused.
