Udupi, Dec 3: Karnataka Veterinary Association (Reg) Udupi district branch protested against the brutal murder of Dr Priyanka Reddy, veterinary assistant surgeon who served in the animal husbandry department in Telangana state.
The protest was held in front of the District Commissioner office at Manipal on Tuesday December 3.
Dr Babanna Poojary, president of Karnataka Veterinary Association (Reg), Udupi district branch stated that Dr Priyanka Reddy who served in the animal husbandry department in Telangana state was brutally murdered and burned by criminals on November 28. This crime had raised the fear in other women and deterred them from executing their professional responsibilities.
"The Karnataka Veterinary Association Udupi District strongly condemns this act and we demand justice with a high level of investigation. It is a repulsive crime against humanity when a young life dedicated to help and serve animals is victimized by these criminals. They must be hanged soon. The government must intervene in the case and see to it that justice is served soon," said Dr Babanna Poojary.
Karnataka Veterinary Association (Reg), Udupi district branch submitted the appeal to K Chandrashekhar Rao, honourable chief minister of Govt of Telangana, Hyderabad
through Aditional District Commissioner of Udupi, Suresh Prabhu. Dr Nagaraj, vice-president of the association, Dr Pradeep Kumar N K, general secretary, Dr Manjunath Adiga N, treasurer, Dr Santoshkumar C V, joint secretary, Dr Vargheese Chavan, internal auditor, Dr Gopalakrishna L Bhat, taluk representative Udupi, Dr. Sooryanarayana, taluk representative Kundapur, Dr Subrahmanya Prasad, taluk representative from Karkala and members of the Karnataka Veterinary Association (Reg) Udupi district branch participated in the protest.
