Mangaluru, Dec 2: The sudden rain which appeared in most parts of coastal Karnataka on Sunday December 1 afternoon created problems for farmers. Many farmers said that the areca nut harvest laid out in the courtyard for drying got wet. In Kodagu, coffee is being harvested and the growers are facing the problem of drying the coffee.
Mangaluru city also experienced rains during the evening.
The meteorological department has predicted that the state might experience some rainfall during the next two to three days on account of movement of cyclone. The state has been experiencing cloudy weather since the last two days. On Sunday, Bengaluru and surrounding areas got good rain. As per the prediction, cold wind and scattered rainfall is expected in coastal region, as well as south and north interior Karnataka for two to three days.
The department has predicted heavy rainfall in Kerala for two days beginning Sunday. Yellow alert has been sounded for Ernakulam, Idukki, and Malappuram districts.
