Mangaluru, Nov 30: ‘Naman’, the first ever Konkani rosary and daily prayer app was launched on Friday, November 29, by bishop emeritus of Mangaluru Fr Aloysius Paul D’Souza. The mobile app was launched during the solemn annual feast of St Joseph Vaz Shrine, Mudipu.
The brain child of this mobile application is Fr Joswin D’Souza, assistant parish priest of Valencia and Fr Rohan Lobo, secretary of the bishop. The app was developed by the students of NMAMIT College Nitte, Rahul D Shetty, Reevan Mario Miranda and Shushanth Kille under the guidance of Dr Roshan Fernandes, professor of NMAMIT College, Nitte.
The app contains morning and evening prayers, daily rosary, angelus, litany, divine mercy chaplet in both audio and text format in Konkani. The text of the prayers is both found in Kannada and Roman script.
The app, which works in all kinds of android phones, can also be used in offline mode.
