Puttur: Man who stole two cellphones apart from car, arrested

Puttur, Nov 29: Uppinangady police succeeded in arresting Praveen Kumar from Ara in Kokkada village in relation to an allegation as per which he was accused of unlawfully entering a house when a lone woman was inside, taking away two cellphones apart from stealing a Maruti Alto car.

A complaint about the theft which happened from the house of Suneetha from Paddadka in Nelyady was filed on Uppinangay police station on November 27. The police who began investigation took the accused into custody from Gundia check post along with the car and other assets. He was produced in the court on November 28.

Suneetha's husband, who is a lorry driver by profession, was not in the house on account of compulsions of his profession. The accused had entered the house by taking advantage of the fact that backdoor of the house was open. He was hiding inside the house and it did not come to the notice of Suneetha. When Suneetha was asleep, he had decamped with cellphones and car, it is said.
