Kaup: Fish truck hits pedestrian, causes his death

Kaup, Nov 28: In a road accident which happened near Lord Janardhana temple at Pangala near here on Wednesday, November 27, a pedestrian was killed. In this accident, Madhava Suvarna (68) from Kaipunjal in Kaup was killed after an insulated fish truck hit him.

Suvarna had alighted from a bus and was waiting to cross the road when a fish truck that was moving from the direction of Udupi towards Mangaluru knocked him down. He was seriously injured. Even though arrangements were made immediately to shift him to a hospital at Udupi, his life could not be saved.

The driver of the truck fled without bothering to stop the vehicle. A case about this incident was registered in Kaup police station based on a complaint made by Rakesh Kotian, nephew of the deceased.
