Udupi, Nov 26: Fans, well-wishers, public and others felicitated well-known social worker Vishu Shetty Ambalpady on November 24 at Bhavani Mantapa, Ambalpady here for his noble service, which is now recognized at national level.
Recently, Vishu Shetty was specially honoured as ‘Volunteer of National Level - Best Legal Authority’, which given by National Legal Services Authority, government of India, New Delhi. He is the only person selected from the state of Karnataka for the year 2019.
Dr Vijaya Ballal, trustee of Sri Janardhan Mahakali temple inaugurated the felicitation programme.
Appreciating the works of social worker Vishu Shetty, Dr Ballal said, “He has a kind heart and likes helping others since his childhood. Doing service is a great thing. He is a gift of god and he is born to help others. Let all the awards may inspire and motivate him to do even more service to the society.”
Vanitha Thorvi, member of State Child Rights Protection Committee said, “Vishu Shetty is the proud son of Udupi and has helped thousands of helpless people in needy situation. We, the human beings have to help each other in difficulties.”
After receiving the honour from the fans, Vishu Shetty thanked all the supporters, especially those who have been with him throughout the journey. He dedicated his award to Goddess Mahakali and he believed that it was possible due to her blessings.
Addressing the gathering Vishu Shetty said, “Protect senior citizens, helpless women and needy persons in any way you can. Do not impose any false allegations on anybody, unless you know the reality. Sometimes society ignores social workers because of inferiority about service. But do not withdraw yourself. Let us have trust and confidence in others. Do not do activities that are harmful to the society. It will distract the peace of the society. The life teaches us lessons and allegations keeps us alert. Let us help each other as human beings are born to help others.”
Jayakar Shetty, Gurikara (village head), Sudhakar Shetty, Hotel Sharada International, Umesh Prabhu, Hitech hospital, Vidyalatha Shetty, Rajendra Pandubettu, Ajith Ambalpady and others were present.
