Mangaluru: Votive procession sets off to mark St Joseph Vaz Shrine Mudipu annual feast

Mangaluru, Nov 25: In preparation for the annual feast of St Joseph Vaz Shrine, Mudipu a votive procession was organized on November 24 from St Joseph Vaz Church to St Joseph Vaz Shrine.

The purpose of the votive procession was to provide meals to all the pilgrims who come to the shrine during festal days. Along with the parishioners, people from within the deanery and Vorkady came in large numbers.

Fr Lawrence Mascarenhas conducted a short prayer and then received offerings. This was followed by benediction conducted by Fr Alwyn D’Souza, assistant director St Joseph Engineering College. Special prayers were offered for the intentions of the benefactors and donors.

Finally, an auction took place under the leadership of Felix D’Souza, Nithyadhar and team. Fr Benjamin Pinto, director of St Joseph Vaz Shrine thanked all those who generously brought offerings. Fr Michael D’Souza, parish priest of Bola Church; Fr Francis Rodrigues, parish priest Vorkady, Fr Shaun Rodrigues, SrJoaquina Dias, Roshan D’Souza, vice president, Mudipu; Marcel D’Souza, secretary, Mudipu were present.

The shrine is well located on the top of the hill, and St. Joseph Vaz will continue to help us in all our daily needs and wants of life.
